You can use it on your ceilings, cabinets and other places in your home but first you have to decide if it is right for your decorating needs.
In order to decide if this crown molding is right for your home or not, there are some important things that you need to do to help you make an informed decision about your ceiling designs. Here are the most important things that you need to do.
One: Cost – You need to take time to learn about the cost for this type of crown molding. It is not always the cheapest, but it definitely adds style and class to any home’s ceiling designs. You have to know how you are going to use it and plan it out to keep the cost within your budget. A little research goes a long way.
Two: Size – There are different sizes available for rope crown molding so you have to take time to figure out what size would be the best for your home. The size of the molding sections will also determine the cost of it.
Three: DIY or hire a professional – You have to take time to decide if you can do the installation yourself or if you should hire a professional. Learning how to install crown molding is not as hard to do as it seems, but it will take you time to learn how to do it correctly.
Learning how to do it right is very important because on a budget, you want to make as few mistakes as possible. Take seriously the saying “measure twice and cut once!” You also want to take time to determine what the price would be for you to hire a professional so you can decide if it is something you can afford.
If you do decide to hire someone to install it for you, then be sure that you take time to check them out to ensure they are reliable, legitimate and will do a good job. You can’t just hire any company and hope that they will do a good job. Do some digging and ask around or you could end up with big problems and a headache!
Now that you know what the most important things are to do, you won’t have any problems making an informed decision about whether rope crown molding is the best choice for your unique ceiling designs or not. With a little planning and ingenuity you can create truly memorable home designs that will beautify your rooms.
Textured Ceiling Designs
Textured ceiling designs are becoming more and more popular nowadays with people starting to get more adventurous with their home décor. Adding some color, texture and style to your ceiling can change the aspect of the entire room. By simply remodeling the ceiling you can add depth and light to different rooms which can make a huge difference and can change the appearance of the room without having to remodel every feature. Many people do not delve too far into the idea of creating a textured ceiling design for their homes as they believe it to be a burdensome task which will require a lot of time and effort to complete. Though, if they were to price up the reality of having textured ceiling designs it is actually a very affordable and simple procedure.
There are many different ceiling types that are now available with a variety of patterns and textures including brush textured ceilings, metal ceiling tiles and many more. Some people are even embarking on some unconventional methods of design which allow you to use just about anything to add some texture and pattern to your ceiling. Simply by getting some paint and a texturing comb, you can add some very vivid and imaginative texture a plain and simple ceiling. As well as being affordable, this creates a unique look and adds a personal touch to your home. A texturing comb is inexpensive and easy to come by, while the application would consist of texture powder and water. Instead of using a texture comb, you can be even more unique and creative by applying the texture with different objects such as your hands, sponges or different cloths. All of these will have a different texture, though be sure to experiment before you go ahead and start o the ceiling.
If you are looking for something more dramatic and on a larger scale, a coffered ceiling is one way in which you can add depth and texture to an otherwise plain ceiling. These patterns of sunken panels add interest and quality to the surface of the ceiling. Though having the ceiling coffered is one of the more expensive textured ceiling designs, it is a dramatic and beautiful way of renovating a room and rejuvenating the atmosphere of a space.
Of course, if you have decided to go ahead and texture the ceiling of your home by yourself, you will need to make sure you are aware of all the information before you start. It is a good idea to always consult a professional before doing any DIY work so that you make sure you are aware of health and safety standards that need o be met. It is important to make sure the texture is applied in the correct way to make sure that the surface is correctly sealed and that the fixtures are not compromised in any way.
Textured ceiling designs are an innovative and creative way in which you can add a new feel and impact to a room without having to have massive renovations. It is a simple, yet effective, way to give an old looking room a new lease of life.
How to clean a cottage cheese ceiling?
I need to clean a cottage cheese textured ceiling, it has cobwebs and dirt on it, and is too tall to reach easily. What is the best way to get it done?
open ended question statements and reasons please?
You are the founder and CEO of the Chartiers/Pittsbrugh Architectural firm. You are to design a building which has a square base in the form of a pyramid with 80,000 sq ft of office space. Each floor has a ceiling which is 8.5 ft high & there are 18 inches between each level to allow for ceiling & floor space. On each floor 20 percent of the floor is not office space. This 20 percent includes hallways, restrooms, maintence storage areas, etc. The final 10 ft of the building can not be used for office space due to the peak of the strucutre being too small to use effectively. If the maximum height of the office buiding is only 100 ft what are the dimensions of the base and what is the angle of elevation of one of the sides of the building? what is the total volume of the entire building? What would be the office floor space on the highest floor? what wouldbe office space on the second florr? accuracy to 4 decimals for every situation

I used to lie in bed starring at my blank white ceiling wall dreaming about the bright city lights, the skyscrapers coving the horizon, and the countless businessmen in suits. I dreamt that one day I would become one of those businessmen kids dream about, the one that drives a nice car with a big house and a perfect family. This was my American Dream.
Years separated from the days I would fall asleep dreaming about my life; the future is now the present and I strive to accomplish everything I had dreamt about and more. Now I attend school at Georgia State University, which sits in the heart of downtown Atlanta. The endless opportunities to professionally network, achieve academically, and to grow as a person made Georgia State University the perfect fit for me. Georgia State University also happened to be extremely well known for their Computer Information Systems program which what I’m currently majoring in. It’s one of the beginning steps on the road to achieving my American dreams. After obtaining my undergraduate degree, I hope to attend a top tier law school and become a corporate lawyer for a Fortune 500 company.
Although I realize 7 years of school which includes 3 years of law school will cost an enormous amount of money, I plan and hope through hard work and determination I can finish those 7 years debt free with minimal financial stress on my family. I’ve been working at Meadowbrook Country Club since the day I turned 16, putting in as many hours as possible during the school years and throughout the summers. During the college school year, when I’m not in class I spend my time at the Georgia State Athletics Department creating graphic designs such as flyers, posters, brochures and website designs for 30 hours a week. Money from work combined with scholarships will hopefully allow me to successfully slide by the financial aspect of college and onto the real world where I my American dream awaits.
Looking for blog sites/websites on small space interior design?
I am moving into a studio apartment with my partner. The room apartment is tiny (16×11 feet or 5×3.3 meters) – that’s excluding the little hallway, bathroom and kitchen. Since it’s quite tricky to furnish I am looking for blog sites or just websites *specifically* on furnishing small spaces. Please don’t give me links to websites with concept ideas of space saving furniture that doesn’t exist or interiors that look like they’re from The Jetsons
The flat is in a Victorian style with wooden beams on the ceiling and a little bay window so ultra modern will just look odd. So if anyone knows where I can find good small space interior design ideas please let me know, you’d pretty much save my life. Alternatively, if you are a budding interior designer and would like to give me some ideas (free of charge
) I could send you the layout of the flat and you could knock yourself out with some furniture arrangement concepts!
What are good colours and design scheme for a bedroom?
My bedroom has been the same old colours for a long time now, and so I’ve decided to re-do all the walls, (I’m thinking paint instead of wallpaper) and re-colour the skirting boards etc.
The carpet colour is creamish white, and the ceiling is white so the walls need to go with that. The furniture is a dark brown colour.
I like wacky and weird schemes, which means my ideas always end up in bright orange walls with stylistic swirls and flowers on them, so I need some gorgeous ideas that wouldn’t overpower the room so much.
I love the "modern flower design" – Don’t know what its called! Those stylistic large flowers, almost stencil like, and I like pretty much any colour (apart from bright green! >_<) I would like it to look modern and exciting, but not be far too overpowering for a bedroom – nothing boring please, I like my things to look just that little bit more awesome and different to the mainstream.
What do you think I could do?
How do I encapsulate a flaky asbestos popcorn ceiling?
A contractor doing work on my home recently damaged a section of my popcorn ceiling. Now flakes of this popcorn stuff are hanging from the ceiling, and could possible come off in time. I don’t plan to repair the ceiling, and I don’t want to disturb the stuff. Is there an adhesive or something that I could spray on the ceiling to keep the stuff from flaking off further?
Doing some DIY changes to my room – need some advice from builders/ decorators please?
I’m redecorating my room and I want to do something cool so I was wondering how easy it was/ how to do/how expensive:
1) Get a picture (as in taken by a camera) painted/printed onto a wall or surface
2) I want to change my wardrobe doors/ bedroom door (perhaps to something like a sliding door or some other kind of door)
3) I’d like to put lights in one of the wardrobes which come on when I open the doors
4) I want to paint complicated designs, is it possible to get custom made stencils which I could use to spray paint the designs on? or are there special tools I can use to do this/ a special technique?
5) I’d like to project my laptop onto the ceiling/a wall with a projector (the questions above and can this be done wirelessly?)
Any help plus links to sites where I can find out more information or purchase equipment would be much appreciated, thanks!
